Salmon, Harriet

Harriet Salmon, age 92 of Hudson died Friday, June 14th 2019 at the Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls. Harriet was born on March 30, 1927 in Hudson; the daughter of Reinhardt and Ann (Killian) Jonas. She was raised in Hudson where she graduated from Hudson High School.

She was united in marriage on June 5, 1954 to John Salmon. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Tim, Joni, Michael, and Carla. For a short time, she worked at the local telephone company before becoming a mom where she stayed home to tend to her children.

Harriet loved the fellowship of others. She enjoyed her time with her birthday club, or her neighborhood, and singing with the Sweet Adeline’s. Friends were important, but family always came first. She took the greatest pride in them. She also enjoyed cooking and bowling. She will be remembered as having a most generous heart.

Harriet will remain in the hearts of her son, Tim (Roxane) Salmon of Hudson; daughters, Joni Salmon of Hudson and Carla (Randy) Klawiter of Cadott, WI; granddaughter, Christina (Ben) Skoglund of Seattle, WA; siblings-in-law, Collette Ruemmele and Thomas Salmon; as well as many nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by her son, Michael; Husband John, her parents, Reinhardt and Ann, and brother Richard.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 3PM, Wednesday June 19th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, with Fr. John Gerritts officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Cylon. Memorials are preferred. Funeral services are entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
