Samuel “Sam” Albert Pettey, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away on October 4, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1938, to Charles and Elsie Pettey.
Sam shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Rosella Pettey, with whom he enjoyed a deep passion for music - especially their mutual love of Elvis. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, rhythm and family. Sam and Rosie eventually moved from the cities to Phillips, Wisconsin, where Rosie was from. Sam enjoyed fishing the lakes around Phillips, polka dancing with Rosie, eating at the local restaurants, shopping the shops around town, watching old shows on the television, listening to old country music, and spending time with family and friends.
A devoted husband, father, and friend, Sam, found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid wrestling fan, loved spending time with his family, and was always ready for a lively card game.
Sam worked as a truck driver and later became a ride operator at Como Park, where he delighted in taking his sons to the famous Sparky Show and spent countless hours making memories together at the park.
Sam is survived by his wife, Rosella Pettey, his sons, Michael (Aimee) Pettey, Samuel Pettey, his grandchildren, Noah, Lydia and Annalynn. Rosella’s son, Steven Everson and grandchildren, Steven, Jamie, Alex and Theresa. His nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Sam’s warm heart, humor, and love for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
