Sharlene Momchilovich

d. September 14, 2018

Sharlene Carol Momchilovich (83) passed away on September 14, 2018 at her home and surrounded by friends and family. She was born on October 17, 1934 in Greybull, WY, the daughter of James and June Gallant.

Sharlene grew up in Wyoming and Montana in her beloved Bitterroot Mountains where she delighted in the wild and untamed landscapes and Chinook winds. She enjoyed sleeping under the stars and hearing the sounds of the animals that inhabited the area. Her life course was forever changed by the loss of her loving mother at 15 years of age, which resulted in her living with a series of families that took her in and cared for her as one of their own.

Sharlene was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 16 years of age. Her faith in the Bible’s promise of an earthly resurrection defined her as she drew strength the rest of her life knowing she would see her beloved mother and siblings again in the future. This faith enabled her to work tirelessly in sharing her hope with others and attend the 28th class of Gilead School for Missionaries, graduating in 1957.

On October 19, 1957 she married John Momchilovich and they moved to Wisconsin to raise their six children, Jay Momchilovich of Baldwin, WI; Paul (Annette) Momchilovich of Woodville, WI; Jack Momchilovich of Platteville, WI; Lucinda Momchilovich of Platteville, WI; Stacy (Robert) Haesler of Darlington, WI; and David(Lynn) Momchilovich of Baldwin, WI.

She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in both care facilities and as a home health worker. She was known as a quiet and caring person. She loved to reminisce about life in the west and the people that had an impact on her. She had a generous spirit and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Sharlene is survived by her sister Flossie, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.

Sharlene was a member of the Glenwood City congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Services will be held on September 30, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Glenwood City, WI at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Discourse will be given by Robert Haesler.
