Sharon Bailey Koland, age 74, formerly of Hudson, WI and Boston, MA, passed away February 10, 2017 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. Sharon was born May 12, 1942 in Malden, MA, the daughter of William and Rose (Cohen) Levine. She graduated from Malden High School, the Class of 1960. Sharon’s life was blessed with a daughter, Stacey who she cared for while working as a bookkeeper in the restaurant industry.
Sharon enjoyed baking and delighted in selling her famous banana bread and fudge at craft sales. In her quiet time, she was fond of sewing, knitting and visiting with friends. Sharon had a gracious heart and loved taking care of others, especially remembering those around her with gifts. She treasured her time being surrounded by family and her grandchildren Jack (13) and Samantha (11). Sharon was sure to bring a smile to your face and in your heart with her dry and witty sense of humor.
Sharon will remain in the hearts of her daughter, Stacey (Jay) Knoebel of Hammond; grandchildren, Jack and Samantha Knoebel; brother-in-law, Walter Goldstein of FL; nephew, Richard (Rae) Goldstein; and great nephew, Samuel Goldstein. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor; and her parents.
Memorial services will take place Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12pm (noon) at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Hudson. A memorial gathering will follow from 12pm-2pm. The family asks that no flowers to be sent due to allergies.
