Shelby Goerner, 48, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away on March 8, 2026.
Born February 8, 1978, in Dubuque, Iowa. Shelby was the eldest beloved daughter of Cindy (Rostad) Goerner and Bing Goerner.
She was raised in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, where her childhood was filled with creativity, adventure, and family. Shelby enjoyed cross-country skiing and long bike rides, playing dress-up and staging imaginative plays with her sisters, collecting rocks and pussy willows while her mom pulled her in the family Radio Flyer wagon, recording music mashups on cassette tapes, and making art. A talented dancer, pianist, percussionist, and athlete, Shelby played volleyball, performed in recitals and marching band, and worked at Dairy Queen during high school, delighting the community by serving Blizzards.
Shelby attended UW–Stout, where she studied interior design and developed her love for decorating and creating beautiful spaces. She later continued her education in court reporting and medical coding, always eager to learn and grow and try new things.
Shelby eventually made her home in Hudson, Wisconsin, where she raised her family. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—walking the family dogs at Willow River State Park, gardening, and caring for her children. She shared a loving partnership of 20 years with Chad Marlow. Together, they built a life centered on family, creating a strong and caring blended household while also working side by side to build a successful business.
Shelby’s greatest pride and deepest joy were her children, who brought immense joy and purpose to her life. She loved deeply and unconditionally, and her kind, gentle, and giving spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Her compassion extended beyond people to animals. She was deeply devoted to helping dogs and cats in need, often opening her home to them and providing the love and care they deserved
Shelby’s legacy is one of love, resilience, kindness, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shelby is survived by her children, Adam Camp, Ponca Camp, Ronan Marlow, and Alexa Marlow; her sister, Lindsay; her niece, Jenica; her nephews, Arlo and Logan; her life partner, Chad; and many extended family members and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cindy (Rostad) and Bing Goerner, and her sister, Jodi Goerner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at O’Connell Funeral Home in Hudson from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
