Stanley “Stan” Mercord Boles, age 91 of Prescott, WI, was reunited with the love of his life, Beverly, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Stanley was born to James and Marie (Mercord) Boles on January 3, 1934, in Prescott, Wisconsin. Stan got his work ethic, integrity and determination from his parents while growing up on the family dairy farm. Stan graduated from Prescott High School in 1952. He was soon captivated by Beverly Hinck’s beautiful smile at the Bay City Ballroom and they married on February 24,1955. Stan and Bev raised their family of six children on the same dairy farm in Oak Grove where Stan was raised.
Stan was a farmer at heart, a lover of land and an entrepreneur. Stan and Bev cultivated many friendships through their businesses and also through their travels to Arizona. Stan was well known, not only throughout the farming and implement communities in the Midwest, but also in Mexico, Canada, Jamaica and Africa.
Stan was generous, loyal and honest. He has been here to advise and guide us, share his adventures and life stories. He loved to enjoy a good laugh with family and friends. Stan’s presence will be greatly missed by many.
Stan is survived by his children Karen(Tom) Swanson, Kathy(John) Gergen, Karol Boles, James(Lori) Boles, Kristine(Mitchell) Voelker and Jay(Angela) Boles, his 28 grandchildren Patrick(Melissa) Swanson, Michael(Nicole) Swanson, Neal(Natalie) Swanson, Jeff(Emily) Swanson, Michelle(Eric) Brathol, Leslie(Dan) Odden, Phillip(Chelsey) Gergen, Samuel Butler(Julia Albarado), Abbey Butler(Robert Fenske), Gretchen(Jarrod) Zaccard, Sarah Schmidt, Joseph(Cassandra) Butler, Margaret(Brad) Holmstedt, Benjamin(Alison) Herpst, Jeremy(Roxan) Boles, Jessica(Josh) Millar, Josh(Trina) Boles, Jacob(Nichole) Boles, Jordan(Mariah) Boles, Steven(Bridget) Voelker, Ryan(Lauren) Voelker, Rachel(Landry) Otten, Lee(Emily) Boles, Elysia(Devon) Derks, Jillian Boles(Joshua Rebhahn), Mallory Boles, Nora Boles, Stanley Boles and 50 great grandchildren, with more on the way.
Stan is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, his parents James and Marie, his sister Marion (Wilmer) Moe, parents-in-laws Isabelle (Hall) and Harold Hinck, sister-in-laws Sharlene Patricia(Bruce) Wheatley, Janice Karolyn Hinck and nephews Ronald Moe and Grant Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery Association Fund, N5496 County Rd QQ, Prescott, WI or to donors choice.
A Funeral Service for Stanley will be at 1:30pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Joy Lutheran Church: 1436 St. Croix St. Prescott, WI 54021. A visitation will start at 11:30am until the service. A private interment will be at Pine Glen Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow the Funeral Service from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at The Ridgetop: W10516 US-10, Prescott, WI 54021.
