In Loving Memory of Susan Ann Lueneburg
February 25, 1946 – October 31, 2025
Susan Ann Lueneburg, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025.
Born on February 25, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sue was the beloved daughter of Lucille and Ben Satrum. She graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1964 and pursued Parish Work at the Lutheran Bible Institute. She continued her academic journey at St. Olaf College and Marquette University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in German, graduating Magna Cum Laude in three years.
Sue taught German at Golden Valley Lutheran College for 2 years, but her heart was always with her faith, her family, and her music. A gifted pianist and organist, she shared her musical talents generously—accompanying soloists, theatrical productions, and choirs across high school, university, community, and church settings. She served as a substitute or permanent organist at several congregations, including Mt. Carmel, Mt. Zion, and Bethany Lutheran. She led a children’s music program at Mt. Zion, even creating original musicals grounded in faith for the children to perform. She also passed on her love of music by teaching piano for over 25 years.
Sue met her husband, Keith Lueneburg, in high school math class - a loving marriage that spanned more than 50 years. Together, they raised three children and built a life grounded in faith, laughter, and shared purpose. In retirement, Sue and Keith found peace and delight at their cherished cabin, where they spent time playing cribbage, reading, chatting, and exploring jewelry making.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Ben Satrum, and her husband, Keith. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Michael and his children James (Makenna), Joe, and Sophia; Rachel (Kerry) and Mark.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Saturday, November 15, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Hudson, Wisconsin. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to organizations that support music education, such as Save The Music Foundation and Music Will, in honor of Sue’s lifelong dedication to sharing the gift of music.
