Sutheree Breanne Lovell, age 47, of Hudson, WI passed away on October 30th, 2026 surrounded by the loving embrace of her family.
She was born on January 24th, 1979 in Bismarck, North Dakota. Her first day home from the hospital her mother laid her out on the bed; she said she had the prettiest hands. She took one look in those eyes and thought, “you’ll be an independent girl, won’t you?”. Yes, on both accounts.
Sutheree was vivacious and warm. She collected friends from all around the globe. She possessed the sort of glow so few of us do; she brought people in. Her lifelong dedication to the food and beverage service industry was the perfect landing spot for her. She was a server and bartender for many years. Amassing a huge number of regulars who would stop just to see Sutheree. Eventually, she took that spirit to the skies. She was a flight attendant for Sun Country Airlines. She traveled the world, took pictures everywhere she went, and always found a beach and a good cocktail.
Sutheree loved to garden. She took tremendous pride in her flowers and growing vegetables. When her children were young, they would sneak out of the house and eat the tomatoes off the vine.
Just as Sutheree collected people, she collected animals. If there was a pet in need of love, Sutheree had plenty to give. Her house was never a quiet one. She brought in dogs, cats, birds, anything and everything that needed a home; they found that in Sutheree. Her dogs Gypsy and Lulu (also known as Poop) will miss her tremendously.
Visiting Sutheree’s home should have been done with an empty stomach. She loved hosting her friends and family for meals where she could show off her tremendous talent in the kitchen. You could taste the love and passion she put into her food. She remembered everyone’s favorite meal and would make it for you (along with 6 other courses) whenever you asked. Her kitchen table has seen more plates, memories and conversations than any other.
Sutheree was a self-proclaimed film and TV critic. She knew every villain in every Scream movie, every twist and turn in the Dexter series and every drama filmed conversation in Vanderpump Rules and Sex in the City. She owned every Friends episode on DVD and if you were to suggest a movie to her, too bad, she’s already seen it. While she spent time in the hospital the past couple of years the nurses would gather in her room, pull up a chair and watch her shows with her, with a lively discussion afterward. No matter the circumstances, she brought people in.
Sutheree was the oldest of her 5 siblings. She was the ultimate support system and somehow was able to be the angel and the devil on their shoulders at the same time. And she knew it. She was fun and relaxed but stern when you needed it. She paved such a wonderful path for them to follow.
While she collected friends everywhere she went, she maintained so many of them for decades. Her friends were so important to her. She was steadfast in maintaining her strong friendships, there was no time or distance able to stand in her way. If Sutheree was in your corner, you knew it.
Sutheree met her husband, Jay, and they formed an incredible bond. They went on trips together, spent lots of time between Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin and always found time to connect with their friends along the way. They were married in Las Vegas, with their close friends and family by their side. A fitting party for a rambunctious couple.
Being a mother was the most important thing in Sutheree’s world. She loved and cherished her children tremendously. For her, it was hard to stay mad at them, she didn’t have it in her. Which is impressive because she could really hold a grudge. Her children were the absolute pride and joy of her life. Seeing them walk through the door, that was a smile to write home about. Of all her accomplishments, being their mother topped the list.
Her beautiful and glorious spirit is one to emulate. Through life’s trials and tribulations there was no one more positive, bright and uplifting. She was bigger than the sky, boundless in spirit and impossible to forget. She leaves behind a void that cannot be filled and a legacy of love that will never fade.
She is survived by her loving husband Jay; children Asher, Elleyette, Carter and Charlie; mother Helyn Zarfos (stepdad Mark Erickson), father Cliff (Marsha) Schollmeyer, and stepdad Tom (Lori) Zarfos; siblings Matthew (Holly) Schollmeyer, Samuel Schollmeyer, Savannah (McKay) Martwig, Destrey (Kara) Zarfos, and Taylar Zarfos, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was lovingly reunited with grandparents Olive Benson, Roger and Bernadine Zarfos and Charles and Angeletta Schollmeyer. A celebration of life will be held at the O'Connell Funeral Home in Hudson on Friday November 6, 2026. Visitation will be from 2:30-3:30 pm with a service starting at 3:30 pm. If you are unable to attend her service will be live streamed HERE.
If you would like to honor Sutheree with a gift, in lieu of flowers, contributions to support the family are deeply appreciated.
