Thomas Allan Dulyn

October 13, 1966 — March 30, 2025

Thomas Allan DuLyn, age 58, was born on October 13, 1966, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, to parents Theodore and Marlene DuLyn. Thomas passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.

Most people called him “Tom” unless you were family or friends from Michigan who lovingly referred to him as “Tommy”. Tom led a life rich with love, laughter, and cherished moments. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Deb, and an incredibly proud father and grandfather (“Papa”) who found endless joy in spending time with family and friends. Whether he was up at the family cabin in Forada, Minnesota, driving the boat full of tubing kids, or providing a spectacular firework displays on the lake, Tom’s spirit of adventure and warmth were felt by all.

A man of many passions, Tom took tremendous pride in his vehicles, with a special affection for his pristine truck, for which he dedicated an entire shelf of cleaning supplies in his garage. In recent years, he added a classic 1987 Trans Am to his cherished vehicles. An avid lover of classic rock, Tom enjoyed creating the perfect atmosphere for movie nights with his high-quality sound system, infusing moments with music and laughter.

Tom’s sense of humor and playful spirit were well-known; he was a true prankster who loved making others laugh. His love of games was evident in his favorite pastimes, from his early age of playing Atari and Pac-Man to engaging friends and family in spirited rounds of cards, cribbage, ping pong, and bowling—where he proudly averaged 240.

With a strong work ethic, Tom began his career as a paperboy, taking pride in his routes before pursuing an education in printing. His journey led him to a long and fulfilling career, and he was currently working as a Production Supervisor at RR Donnelley. His entrepreneurial spirit also saw him becoming a realtor, flipping homes and investing in rental properties in the local area. Tom was very generous, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Tom’s adventurous spirit shone through in his love for travel—whether it was soaking up the sun on Caribbean beaches with a cocktail in hand (probably a Captain Morgan with Diet Coke) or skiing the slopes of Colorado with his family, he embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories.

Tom is survived by his wife Deb DuLyn; children Joshua (Laurel) DuLyn and Kaitlin (Mason Marek) DuLyn; grandchildren Ryker, Rylee, Rylan, Ryia, and Rydge DuLyn, and Myles Marek; brother Ted (Micki) DuLyn; and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by parents Theodore DuLyn and Marlene Howell.
