Tom Krohn, a beloved friend and father, passed away peacefully on July 1st at the age of sixty-five. Born on November 4th, Tom was known for his relentless work ethic and a straightforward approach to life. His career in construction spanned decades, during which he contributed significantly to various projects. He helped build many of the homes that started in New Richmond and many of the homes within Somerset, Wisconsin. His structures were strong and enduring, just like him, leaving a lasting legacy. Tom’s journey in construction began early. Coming from a family with a strong tradition in the trade, he followed in the footsteps of his father, who was a mason. He started working before high school was even over and couldn’t wait to start his own career. Initially, he worked for Derrick Construction, honing his skills and gaining invaluable experience. His determination and talent led him to open his own business, where he proudly worked for himself. Over the years, his son, Brandon, his godson, Josh Krohn, and his nephews worked alongside him, learning the trade and contributing to the family legacy. Tom always found his own way, navigating life’s challenges with a unique blend of stubbornness and ingenuity. Tom had a strong personality that could ruffle some feathers from time to time, but those who knew him well appreciated his honesty and commitment. He believed in hard work and instilled this value in many of the young men he mentored. His impact was felt by those he took under his wing, offering them guidance and support in his own unique way. He opened his home to anyone who was in need, providing them with the tough love and direction that helped shape their futures. Tom’s legacy is one of resilience and the importance of a solid work ethic. Tom loved being in nature and enjoyed hunting, always looking forward to hunting season which marked the end of the construction season and his heading off to Florida. As he got older, he loved spending time in Florida, where he enjoyed fishing and visiting his daughter, Breanna, more and more each year. Tom also loved riding his motorcycle, finding freedom and joy on the open road. He loved his parents very much and built a house next door to them, ensuring they were always close. Tom is survived by his son, Brandon Krohn, his daughter, Breanna Krohn, his daughter-in-law, Shauna Krohn, and his two granddaughters, Lily Krohn and Chloe Krohn. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews who loved and looked up to him. He will be remembered by his family and those he mentored for his strong will and the life lessons he imparted. A celebration of life will be held on August 2nd at Not Justa Bar from 3-6. Tom Krohn’s memory will endure in the hearts of his family and those whose lives he touched, reminding us of the value of hard work and the impact one can have on others, even in subtle ways.
