Thomas R. Phernetton

Thomas Russell Phernetton, of Beldenville, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on November 30, 2024, at the age of 79. Born in Red Wing, MN, to Russell and Clara Phernetton, Thomas was raised with strong values of family, community, and hard work. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1964 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army Reserves, an experience that deeply shaped his life and instilled in him a lasting pride in being a veteran.

After leaving the Reserves, Thomas dedicated his life to carpentry, honing his skills and becoming a proud Union Carpenter. His dedication to his craft allowed him to support his family and contribute to the construction of numerous projects throughout the area.

In 1968, Thomas found his true partner in life when he married Suzanne “Sue” Phernetton. Together, they built a home in Beldenville and raised three children, creating a warm, loving household that was the foundation of their family’s life. Thomas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his loved ones first and teaching them the value of hard work, integrity, and love.

As Thomas grew older, he continued to be an active part of the community, joining the Ellsworth American Legion and taking part in its many events and activities. He loved nothing more than spending time on the farm, helping where he could, and relishing the simple joys of country living. Summers were particularly special, with his family making cherished memories at the cabin on Staples Lake.

Thomas is survived by: his children, Todd(Julie) Simanski of Ankeny,Iowa, Jamie Randall of Ellsworth,WI, and Michelle(Jay)Helmueller of Ellsworth,WI, brother, Allen(Marion) Phernetton, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by, his parents Russell Phernetton, Clara Phernetton; wife Suzanne “Sue” Phernetton; brothers Lawrence and James; sisters Doris Sackett, Beverly Forton, and Lorene Kline.

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, a visitation will be held at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Ellsworth Wisconsin, 130 N Grant St, Ellsworth, WI 54011.
