Updated: Zella Mae Schlegel

Zella Mae Schlegel, age 93, joined her maker on January 6, 2013 at the Comforts of Home in Baldwin, WI, surrounded by her family.  Zella was born in Alma Center, WI to Frank and Myra Joos.

Zella is survived by her beloved George, her husband of over 71 years, their children, Myra (Steve) Douglass of Atascadero, CA, Alice (Jim) Cardella of Novi, MI, Georgia Larsen of Menomonie, Paula Bondarenko of Baldwin, and Ed (Glendyr) Schlegel of Niceville, FL, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Winifred Joos, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration of Zella’s life will be held at 11AM on Friday, June 14 at the Methodist Church in Melrose, WI.  A visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to services.  Inurnment will be held at 2:30PM at the Irving Township Cemetery, WI.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given in Zella’s name to the Irving Cemetery or the Melrose United Methodist Church.  Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home – Baldwin Chapel   715.684.3434
