Valetta Adkins

Valetta Pauline Adkins, age 80, of Hudson WI, formerly of South Carolina and Madison, WI, passed away on October 6, 2012 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.

Valetta was born on February 29, 1932 to Louis and Merle (Crooks) Erickson in Mineral Point, WI. After graduating high school, she married Joseph Adkins on July 9, 1955 at Truax Field Chapel in Madison, WI, a marriage that would be blessed with their son, Lawrence.

Valetta loved taking care of others. She was a generous, giving, and loving person. She was a big Packer fan and enjoyed having her daily french vanilla cappuccino. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Lawrence (Bonnie) Adkins; grandchildren, Sherry (Tony), Danielle (Brad), and Jeffrey (Julie); great-grandchildren, Anthony, Laticia, Jesse (Lucy), Stefanee, Zachary, Tessa, Rachel, Jared, Riley, Hannah, and Jacksyn; and great-great-grandson, Liam. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and four siblings.

The family would like to specially thank the Christian Community Home staff for all of their loving care they provided to Valetta.

A funeral service for Valetta will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th St. S., Hudson. with a visitation from 4-6p.m. prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be on Saturday, October 13 at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison, WI.
