Velma Marie Britton

Velma Marie Britton, age 70 of Hager City died unexpectedly on December 29, 2021, at River Falls Area Hospital. Velma was born to Lloyd and Opal (Hintzman) O’Bryan on April 28, 1951, in Menomonie, WI. Velma graduated from Elmwood High School with the class of 1969. On May 26, 1969, Velma married the love of her life Ronald Michael Star Britton. Their union blessed them with two children, Billie Jo and Troy.

Velma was the definition of a kindhearted person. She would help anyone with anything if she could. Velma loved to talk to anyone and everyone. She was a strongly opinionated person and wasn’t afraid to let it be known. Velma was extremely proud of her family and loved them fiercely from her children and grand children to her sisters. Velma will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Velma is survived by her children, Billie Jo Britton, and Troy (Linda) Britton; grandchildren: Kelsi, Logan, Isabella, Bo; and great grandchildren: Ariah and Alaynah; siblings: Charlotte Smith, Ardie Smith, Pat (Arlen) Ellefson, Jenny (Bob) Langer, and Steve Hintzman, Pat O’Bryan, and Shirley (Ron) Link. She was preceded in death by her husband of Ronald; parents, Lloyd and Opal O’Bryan; parents-in-law, Donald and Ruth Britton; brother, Wes O’Bryan, sister, Darlene Hintzman, and brothers-in-law: Willard Smith and Donny Smith.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, January 6, 2022 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant St. Ellsworth, WI 54011.
