Vi Liddle

Viola Rose “Vi” Liddle of River Falls WI age 98 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. She was born on May 14, 1922 in Hastings MN to parents Bill and Anna Karnick. She married Vern “Bud” Liddle on May 7, 1948. They were blessed with a family of eight children. In 1962 they moved their family to River Falls where they owned and operated a dairy farm in Kinnickinnic Township. In 1963 Bud unexpectedly passed away.  She was now a single parent who had to raise eight kids ranging in age from one year old to thirteen years old, and keep the dairy farm going. This amazing woman managed to do just that. As the kids got older and could help more with the farm, she also took on a full-time job. No matter how busy as she was, she always found time for family, friends, and neighbors. She loved getting into a good Euchre or Poker game, going to Vegas with friends, and enjoying an ice-cold beer. She even admitted to being a Minnesota Vikings fan.

As her family continued to grow with grandkids and great grandkids, she was always there to love and support them. She would also offer them advice, and wasn’t afraid to discipline if needed.

Vi will remain in the hearts if her children, Rita (Deed) Danielson, Billy (Penny) Liddle, Sandy (Paul) Lubich, Suzy (Brent Weiss) Nilssen, Butch (Kelly) Liddle; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Jean and Marge; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; sons, Paul, Bruce “Fuzzy”, and Jerry, her great granddaughter, Kenzi; her parents; and five siblings.

Due to the ongoing pandemic a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Viola’s family at St Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. Viola’s final place of rest will be next to her husband Bud at the St Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Hastings MN.
