Vicky Joan Sullivan

Vicky J (nee Grimm) Sullivan, age 81 passed away into eternal life, at
the “Lutheran Home” in River Falls, WI. on Feb. 8, 2016, very suddenly
after a brief illness. She was born in St Croix County, WI. to Adolph &
Bernice (nee McCoy) Grimm on July 18, 1934.
Vicky is survived by sisters: Dixie McCaughn of Woodruff, WI. and
Garnette Roofe of Cumberland, WI. brother: Gary (Judith) Grimm of River
Falls WI. also nieces and nephews: Dawn (Bill) Schnoor of Rhinelander,
WI.; Terri Ann Werder of Goldau, Switzerland; Barbara Mason of Cassville, WI.; David (Anne) Franke of Star Lake, WI.; Roxanne (Ryan) Graham of Butler, PA.; Matthew Grimm of River Falls, WI.and also many grandnieces & nephews.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Leslie of
almost 50 years in 2006.
Vicky grew up on a farm just east of River Falls. Her education
started in a one room school house (County Line School) in 1940. Eight
years later she moved on to River Falls High graduating in 1952. She then
moved on for a time to farther her education at River Falls State
University and then moved on to Stout University in Menomonie, WI. where
she completed her degree in education majoring in ‘Home Economics”. She
then went on to teach “Home Ec” for several years.
While she was in college, during the summer break, she met the”love”of
her life an eventually she married Leslie Sullivan in the spring of 1957. They were never blessed with children of their own however Vicky dearly loved every child she encountered. She was always happy to care for or watch any ones child. Aunt Vicky or “Gma” Vicky was always a welcome sound to her ears.
Vicky loved the outside in the fresh air. She always had a large vegetable garden where ever she lived & would share her bounty with anyone who came along. As the years passed by the gardens became smaller & finally became only flower gardens but always very beautiful for anyone’s eyes. We will miss her gardens, her generosity, and jolly good humor, always a perfectionist.

A memorial service will be held at the 1st Congregational Church in River Falls on March 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hr. prior to the service at 10:00 AM
