Zachary ‘Zac’ Spohn

Zachary Thomas “Zac” Spohn, age 31 of Hudson, died unexpectedly of natural causes in his home on June 27, 2018. Zac was born on August 13, 1986 in Hudson, to John Spohn and Ann O’Brien-Spohn. He grew up in Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School in 2005. Zac was a window film specialist at Sun Control of Minnesota where he was an expert installer and trainer supervising installations of commercial window tinting.

Zac loved spending time with his family and hanging out with his best friend Joe. He was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing disc golf and video games, going camping, and riding his bike. Zac was very fond of animals and kept a special place in his heart for Sammie, his departed yellow lab.

Zac is survived by his mother, Ann O’Brien; father, John (Mary) Spohn; siblings, Mac, Cecely (John Gavic), Mercedes, and Madeline (Josh Brunner); best friend, Joe Haworth; grandmother, Elizabeth O’Brien; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas O’Brien, and Bert and Harriet Spohn; and uncle, Michael O’Brien.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., with an 8:00 p.m. prayer service, on Monday, July 2, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, and one hour prior to the mass at church on Tuesday. Interment at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
