Celeste Raleigh

Celeste Ann Raleigh, age 65 of Somerset, passed away April 30, 2019 at the Deer Field Gables in New Richmond. Celeste was born November 22, 1953 in St. Paul, MN to Valmore and Cornelia (Hinz) Belisle. She graduated from Somerset High School, the class of 1971. Celeste was united in marriage on September 29, 1978 to William “Billy” Raleigh at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and their marriage was blessed with a son, William Jr.

Many will remember Celeste as one of the hardest working women you’d ever meet. She owned and operated the Somerset Dairy Queen for over 30 years, touching the lives of thousands of people. Many recalled her as being the “best boss” and an amazing woman who taught them life lessons and a strong work ethic. Despite being so petite, she had a commanding presence that earned others’ respect thanks to her honesty and integrity.

When she wasn’t tending to the duties of the DQ, Celeste loved to spend time with Bill Sr. in their favorite place, Las Vegas, where they enjoyed endless laughter and created countless memories. Mostly though, her biggest smiles would come from seeing her granddaughter grow into a beautiful young woman and her grandson giggle and run around the room with such energy that we all wish we still had.

Celeste’s greatest love was her husband. It was with Bill Sr. that she had the most fun. They fell deeply in love at a young age and that love only grew stronger each year. Bill Sr.’s passing in 2013 hit Celeste hard and life was never the same. We can take solace knowing that Celeste and Bill are once again reunited, with love and laughter, looking down on all of us.

Celeste will remain in the heart of her son, Billy Jr. (Ashley); grandchildren, Madison and Brantley; siblings, Kathleen (Michael) Fox, Danny Belisle (Cheryl Brandt), Patty Parent, Renee (Jim) Landry; many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Sr.; her parents; infant sister, Michelle; and Sister-In-Law, Jennifer Belisle.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 141 Church Hill Road, Somerset, WI. A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the mass at the church. Interment will take place at St. Anne’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
